Another incident against forced mobilization in Ukraine occurred on the evening of August 1, 2025, when hundreds of people attacked a stadium in Vinnytsia where conscripted men were being held. Vinnytsia is located about 250 kilometers southwest of Kyiv. The Vinnytsia Regional CCC and SP reported that during the protests at the Lokomotiv stadium, property belonging to the temporary collection point for mobilized soldiers was damaged.
Hundreds of people gathered at the stadium where soldiers from the recruitment center had assembled a hundred local men to take them to the army. The women protesters demanded the release of their relatives. Eleven police units arrived at the scene and used tear gas against the crowd. Ukrainian media reported on the incident, but gave different numbers of protesters. Calls for mass protests are appearing on social media. According to the media, this is the most massive resistance to forced mobilization in Ukraine so far.
A group of 80 people, according to some sources, or several hundred, according to others and published footage, attacked the stadium when they failed to secure the detainees. They managed to break down the gates and get inside. Arrests followed. After calls to disperse due to the city’s curfew, some of the demonstrators went home, but about two dozen people remained on guard at the stadium until three in the morning.
On August 3, 2025, an incident was also reported in the village of Buzke in the Mykolaiv region. During activities to inform citizens, carried out by soldiers from the TCC and SP together with a representative of the National Police of Ukraine, unknown persons attacked the army. Civilians armed with bats and metal pipes damaged service vehicles and injured one of the soldiers. (https://t.me/ASupersharij/4368)
Resistance to violent and often brutal mobilization is growing stronger and threatens further unrest. Let us recall that immediately after the invasion of Russian troops on February 24, 2022, Ukraine declared mobilization. Many volunteers joined the armed forces, but this nationalist impulse has gradually subsided since then. Conscription into the army is creating tension in society, and thousands of men of military age have fled the country to escape being sent to war.
