A tank is rolling through the streets of so-called Austria. But it won’t be going to war. Its cannon has been deformed so that it cannot kill. Its structure serves as a table for informational materials about a public collection for deserters and war refugees. This tank is not a machine for killing people; it is a symbol of resistance against the war machine, against military mobilization, and against the cult of militarism. Wherever this tank goes, it shares a clear message: Deserters, welcome!
Desertion has a significant impact on sabotaging the war machine of the capitalist state, which in turn affects its ability to conduct military operations. We support desertion because we want to stop the war. We organize class struggle against “our” state and “our” bourgeoisie because we know that capitalist peace is a continuation of war by other means and a preparation for its escalation.
